The Rapids Lodge was built in 1915, making our lodge a century old. The lodge is built from local lodge pole pine, and was the first building in Grand Lake, Colorado to have running water and electricity. The building originally opened as an inn and restaurant, and has been preserved over the years as an historical hotel and a local Grand Lake icon. Our long list of famous (and infamous) guests includes Janis Joplin, Jim Croce, and Kris Kristofferson. There are three cabins built in 1925 and a Rapids Suite building built in 2003. The Rapids also manages some units in the Rapids Condo and River View Condo buildings.
For the best variety of lodging in Grand Lake, Colorado, look no further than the Rapids Lodge! Our many lodging options, with free WI-FI, can accommodate guest groups both large and small, from our lodges cozy guest rooms to our riverfront condominiums for groups of up to 12. We even offer dog-friendly suites and vintage log cabins! The Rapids Lodge can accommodate up to 120 people at once.
